Early in the season, it appeared as though the Boston Bruins’ goaltender position was in disarray, but one individual has turned out to be a wise insurance policy.
A little more than a month ago, anyone who predicted that Boston Bruins goalie Joonas Korpisalo would rank among the NHL’s most productive No. 2 goaltenders would have likely been scoffed at. And with good reason—after an extremely short sample size, Korpisalo gave up nine goals in his first two games, leading some supporters to believe he was a disaster. However, that hasn’t been the case lately, as after the Bruins defeated the Utah Hockey Club, Korpisalo recorded his second shutout of the year. Korpisalo had already recorded his first shutout against the Philadelphia Flyers on November 2nd, and this was his second in his last four games.
